We learned to ask for enquiry timestamps, not only arrivals. Where a front office still writes names in a paper diary, the colour of the ink on Tuesdays is enough: advance October stays sit in a different pen from the Friday walk-in. Mixing those in one “city demand” number hides the only signal that helps you decide whether to hold a suite for a later higher rate.
